Do you have a morning ritual?
I always start my day getting my body moving - it could be a walk or a run (or both). At the moment I am loving starting my days in Bali, running along the coast and even going for a surf! I also make sure to start my day eating a yummy, nourishing breakfast and if I can fit in some journalling or a medi, then it’s a good day!
What mantra you live by?
There are so many I love, but right now it is all about cultivating beauty from within and without. My mission is to empower women to feel beautiful about themselves - regardless of their physicality. Honouring our minds, bodies and souls through love, light, kindness and of course, living as close to natural as we possibly can.
Complete this sentence: I feel the most beautiful…
Fresh out of the ocean, sandy hair, salty skin and a summer breeze in the air.
What do you love about yourself? Why do you think this is a hard question for some of us to answer, when we can think of 101 things we love about our girlfriends?
Truth be told, I’m constantly working on self love. I try to focus on more than just my physical appearance when it comes to daily reminders of my self worth - the heart and soul stuff, am I being a good friend, am I helping and serving others in the world? I’m big on advocating focusing on what you do love though and I can confidently say that I LOVE my ability to attract and create beautiful supportive friendships in my life. I LOVE that I follow my heart, even when it leads me to confronting or challenging experiences, I’ve learned to trust the process and I really LOVE this about myself!
Did you overcome any struggles to get where you are today with body positivity?
Yes, and believe it or not I still have my days. But now, when comparison or body shame pops up - I quickly acknowledge it and put it to rest. It is always telling me something I have overlooked - perhaps time for more self care or self love practices, and just to slow down and be grateful for all I have right now.
If you could give one piece of advice to your 18-year-old self, it would be….
That you are SO beautiful and worthy and important, and what you have to say matters.
Where is your happy place?
Anywhere by the ocean, with my girlfriends.
What is one thing you do for yourself every day?
Get my body moving - without fail - every day.
Are there any books/podcasts/blogs you would recommend to everyone?
Gosh, there are SO MANY I can’t even begin - but you all MUST check out my bestie’s podcast, The Melissa Ambrosini show. Majority of the guests she interviews are authors of my favourite books and blogs, so it’s a good place to start!
Forget waiting for New Years resolutions, what’s one thing people can do today to be more Body Beautiful?
Look in the mirror and start to acknowledge what you LOVE about yourself, physical or otherwise. Before long, it gets easier and easier, I promise you.
